Your ULink Experience

Meet our Panel Moderator - Nicole

When I graduated from high school, I didn’t give my post-secondary education a lot of thought.  I made my plans quickly, and didn’t think about any sort of backup.  In my mind, I figured I would attend BCIT, complete my Computer Systems Technology diploma, find a job and start life in “the real world.”  This all changed when I realized that computer programming wasn’t for me; I really couldn’t see myself enjoying a career in computer and software programming. This is when I decided to reconsider my career and educational goals.

Within a matter of weeks, I immediately came to Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I Knew Kwantlen was a terrific institution from my friends and family members who were either currently attending or had previously attended Kwantlen. As soon as I decided on Kwantlen, I took some time to speak to an advisor about what program to enroll in, finally deciding on Business Management.

As a student at Kwantlen, my main focus is my education. During class, I enjoy taking part in discussions with my peers and being challenged by my instructors.  Also, I have fun throwing together presentations or group projects because it’s a great way to get to know the other students in your class or program.  Although I spend most of my time in class, like most students, I also have a life outside of the classroom.

Currently, I also work at Kwantlen as a Student Ambassador for the Office of New Student Programs.  In this position, I am able to take all of my enjoyable and fulfilling experiences at Kwantlen and share them with any future students.  It gives me great pleasure to pass on these experiences to students and I hope their experiences are as great as mine have been. I look forward to highlighting the experiences of some of our established Kwantlen alumni at ULink.
