Industrial Warehousing Apprenticeship
The requirements for completing an apprenticeship in Industrial Warehousing is 5040 hours of on-the-job training, three weeks of training in each of the three levels of technical training (Level 1, 2 & 3).
Individuals may have a couple of different ways to starting an apprenticeship in the warehousing sector.
1. Complete an ELTT Automotive Parts & Light Warehousing program
After completing the ELTT program graduates need to acquire employment/work-based training in the industrial warehousing field. Several employers throughout B.C. are actively involved in training apprentices. Individuals wishing to identify employers who are hiring would be able to acquire up-to-date information from their instructors or by referring to employment websites – www.workopolis.com or www.workinfonet.bc.ca Once an individual has employment and is a registered industrial warehouse apprentice the expectation will be to complete 5040 hours of on-the-job training as well as, return to a post-secondary institution of your choice for two additional levels of technical training.
2. Acquiring an apprenticeship before completing any technical training
Registered apprentices will be responsible for enrolling in scheduled in-school training sessions throughout their apprenticeship. An individual registered in an industrial warehousing apprenticeship would complete the level 1 Parts technical training session before registering in a level 2 industrial warehousing technical training session. Industrial warehousing has three levels of technical training.
