Parts & Warehousing


This program prepares students for employment in the automotive parts and service industry as a parts person, service writer, control tower operator, light warehousing parts person or employment as an inventory clerk.

Hands-on experience is the basis from which skills are developed in this program. The most important tools for a parts person is the computer and parts catalogues. Databases, online catalogues and inventory control systems are necessary for ordering, organizing parts and for retrieving information.

Key attributes for people considering this field are: computer application skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity skills. This program will appeal to service-oriented people. The Automotive Parts and Light Warehousing profession offers stable employment not highly affected by seasonal employment trends.
