Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between Reserved and Unreserved Parking? All our parking is random parking, first come first served. If Reserved parking is full, Reserved permit holders can find parking in the unreserved parking areas. Unreserved pass holders can only park in unreserved parking or the overflow parking at the Newton Athletics Park.

2. Are parking permits valid on all campuses? Yes, you can use the same permit on all our campuses.

3. If I purchase a day pass is it valid on all campuses? Yes, you can use the same pass on all our campuses, until it expires for that day.

4. If I purchase a day pass and leave and come back, and am not able to get the same stall number do I have to buy a different day pass? No, you do not need to purchase another pass, as long as you make sure to put the day pass receipt face up on your dash. Please make sure the pass is still valid.

5. How many people are needed to qualify for the Carpool permit? Two people must arrive at the campus in the vehicle for the use of a Carpool permit to be valid.

6. If I have a Disabled Persons' Parking (SPARC) permit do I still have to purchase a parking permit? No, as long as your Disabled Persons' Parking (SPARC) permit is valid, Kwantlen Polytechnic University does not require you to purchase a parking permit.

7. If I have a Disabled Persons' Parking (SPARC) permit where can I park?
SPARC pass holders can park in the disabled parking stalls for free with their permits; however they are expected to pay if they are not parking in a designated spot. In other words, it’s the designated stall that is free and not the pass, and the pass is not transferable to other parking stalls.

8. What happens if all the parking is full on the Surrey Campus?
On the rare occasion that all parking spaces are full at the Surrey Campus, there is free overflow parking available.

9. Where are the electric/ hybrid parking stalls?
Surrey campus - parking stalls numbers are 862, 863, 864, 865 and 866.
