Appointments
Current and prospective students seeking assistance from a Disability Advisor are welcome to make a 30-60 minute individual appointment at the campus they will be attending. These appointments are to arrange for physical or learning accommodations, funding, technology and other access requirements.
How to Prepare for an Appointment with a Disability Advisor
- Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment, at the Services for Students with Disabilities department, located in the Counselling Centre.
- Bring all contact information, e.g. Kwantlen student number, current phone number, address, and email.
- Bring all related medical documentation or psycho-educational assessments. The documentation should describe the nature of the disability/condition, including a detailed explanation of the functional impact of the disability, written and signed by a specialist in the field of the disability.
- Contact a Disability Advisor, well in advance, if an interpreter is required.
How to Prepare for an Appointment with a Learning Specialist
- Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment, at the Services for Students with Disabilities Department, located in the Counselling centre.
- Students seeking accommodation approval are asked to bring all related medical documentation or psycho-educational assessments, if not previously submitted to the Disability Advisor. The documentation should describe the nature of the disability/condition, including a detailed explanation of the functional impact of the disability, written and signed by a specialist in the field of the disability
- Students with disabilities requiring learning strategies may bring information relevant to their course area of concern (e.g. assignments, readings, marked exams) to their appointment with the Learning Specialists.
