Instructions for Proposals & Papers
Your proposal of 150 words or less must be submitted by Monday, September 17, 2012 online at: . You can also email your proposal to: SSC2012@kwantlen.ca.
A typical proposal includes a clearly stated outline of the main themes and arguments of the presentation. A proposal should offer a clearly stated research question or problem that you will be examining in your paper and what you think the answer to this question will be .Your proposal should be precise and explicit. After reading it, we should know precisely what you will be arguing and how you will be arguing your points. We should also have a clear sense of how your paper is organized. Please include a bio of 50 words or less with your proposal or panel submission stating the name(s) of the `presenter(s), status (i.e.: student), institutional affiliation, research interests, address, phone contact, and email address. For samples of bios, please click here.
We recommend that you keep the length of your double spaced paper to less than 6,000 words. We also ask you to follow the ASA or APA styles.

Important Note
Please submit your file as a ".doc" rather than a ".docx" document (i.e.: save your file as a Word 97-2003 Document). Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to open files that are saved as ".docx" documents.
When naming your file, please follow the format below: Sociology_Conference_Last name_First name.
You are also required to submit your paper before the conference (Date TBA).
We ask you to follow the format below when naming your paper and submitting it online: Sociology_Conference_Title of Paper (Proposal)_Last Name_First Name.
