About geography at Kwantlen....

Geography includes both physical geography (landforms, climate, etc.) and human geography (spatial organization of human activities). It therefore bridges the natural sciences like physics and chemistry, and social sciences like sociology and economics.

Geography tends to address a wider range of issues, and follows more wholistic and interdisciplinary approaches than most academic disciplines. Two unifying themes are the interconnection of the natural world and the social world (as in environmental and regional studies), and the spatial perspective on the world (as in mapping and location studies).

Studying geography can lead to a wide range of careers in fields like urban and regional planning, geotechnical engineering, retail market planning, environmental consulting, meteorology, First Nations governance, geographical information systems (GIS) and international development (see http://www.cag-acg.ca/en/student_opportunities). Geography is an excellent background for professional programs like teaching, law, engineering and business.
