Green Chair Events is a social enterprise dedicated to raise awareness about sustainability and sustainable events. We provide a wide variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from office administration to artistic decor and to waste management. We green any event by using recycled decorations (artistic volunteers create decorations from recycled materials) and bringing recycling stations (volunteers staff these stations to educate the public about sustainable waste management and ensure a low contamination level). We also have community outreach programs that students can get involved with. Check out volunteer posting here: Arts & Decor, Recycling Management

Student Representative for the Langley Environmental Partners Society

Langley Environmental Partners Society is a nonprofit partnership-based organization that protects and restores the natural environment through education, cooperation and action. LEPs is seeking a student active in the Langley area, to sit on the LEPS Board of Directors as the student rep.

The Student Representative of the Board of Directors is an elected, voting position lasting two years in duration. The elected student will be expected to attend monthly Board meetings held January to June and September to November each year.  In addition, the Student Representative may be asked to participate in other meetings and activities (special events, etc.)   The Student Representative position on the Board of Directors will provide LEPS with a link to youth, and direct feedback to help LEPS create comprehensive programs that appeal to youth. LEPS is seeking an individual who wants to have a positive impact in their community, provide input on youth perspectives on local environmental issues, and gain Board Membership training and a better perspective on how a successful non profit charitable organization is operated.

Interested? Email: nmarlpes@tol.ca. Visit the LEPS website at www.leps.bc.ca

Vancouver Opera Guild - Web Designer

The VOG is a not-for-profit volunteer-run organization supporting and promoting opera in British Columbia, through projects aimed at benefitting Vancouver Opera and young musical talent throughout Vancouver and BC.   In order to make our organization more accessible to the public we are in need of a more user-friendly and informative website. Unfortunately no one among our ranks is web design savvy. We are seeking a young talented web designer or student who would be interested in taking on this project to add to their portfolio and CV. The new webpage need not be very complicated, however, there are a list of requirements it must fulfill. We will discuss the details with the designer upon meeting him/her. Contact Soma or visit the VOG webpage: www.vancouveroperaguild.com
