INCREDIBLE YOUTH LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Want to be a leader… not just in the future, but right now? Well, Leadership Richmond - Youth Now is your chance to demonstrate your leadership abilities, gain incredible work experience, receive training in leadership and board governance and be part of a network of young community leaders.

Youth Now is an unique leadership experience that engages young leaders in direct leadership by having them participate as a member of a not-for-profit board of directors. In addition to serving one year as a board member, participants also attend leadership and board governance workshops once a month, are mentored by a community leader, and spearhead a community or board project. Graduates describe Leadership Richmond – Youth Now as a “basic foundation for youth to step into the leadership world” and “a chance for youth to learn and grow.” More importantly, Youth Now opens up new avenues for youth participants and allows them to develop their leadership skills through hands-on experiences.

“Leadership Richmond – Youth Now provided me with a great avenue to engage and support my community, and to realize my potential and those around me. The program has made me more aware of community issues and the variety of community services that are in Richmond” said Vanessa Yu, 2010 graduate.

Leaders who are high school graduates (as of Sept. 1, 2010) under the age of 26 and live, work or study in Richmond are eligible to apply for the program.

The new program begins September 20010. Apply now. Space is limited! Visit www.volunteerrichmond.ca to download an application form.
