Terms of Reference
Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC)
Approved June 1, 2011 by Board of Governors
PSAC will:
- Review and adopt the Terms of Reference prescribed by the Board of Governors.
- Review the Board prescribed Code of Conduct. Each PSAC member will sign the Code of Conduct.
- Declare any real or perceived conflict-of-interest and/or conflict-of-commitment that might otherwise disqualify him/her from PSAC membership.
- Review and discuss the search documents (Presidential Position Description, Candidate Profile, Selection Criteria) as agreed to by the Board of Governors and Senate and adopt the documents. In the event that there is any uncertainty about the meaning, intent or spirit of the documents, PSAC will seek clarification.
- Work with Odgers Berndtson on the overall search process and commence the review of the ‘long list’ of candidates.
- Work with Odgers Berndtson to establish a ‘short list’ of candidates.
- Work with Odgers Berndtson to develop and confirm the interview process for the short listed candidates.
- Interview candidates included on the ‘short list’ in accordance with the search documents and confirmed search processes.
- Based on its deliberations and overall work with Odgers Berndtson, PSAC will present a list of not less than two or more than three candidates to the Board of Governors.
- Upon submission of the list of final candidates to the Board of Governors the Presidential Search Advisory Committee will be discharged of its duties.
