This is a very brief list of Kwantlen library resources that may be useful for your research and scholarship. It is intended only as a starting place. Please ask a librarian if you don't find what you need; we're here to help!

To look for books on research methods in your field, do a keyword search in the library catalogue using the name of your discipline and the words "research methods" or "research methodology". Here are a few examples:

Datasets and Statistical analysis

For information on the datasets available to Kwantlen scholars, please see our Data Services webpage. The library has a number of statistical software guides (including videos) and many books and videos on statistical analysis.


Research ethics

Kwantlen's Office of Research & Scholarship (ORS) website has links to several resources on research ethics in Canada, including the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS): Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (2nd edition).

Getting Published

The library has numerous manuals on scholarly writing, and resources to help you get published. Some are general in nature, and others are particular to one field. You can find most of these titles using the following subject keywords:

Open access publishing

  • Directory of Open Access Journals
    Lists over 3000 free, full text, quality-controlled scientific and scholarly journals, of which half are searchable at the article level. It includes Postcolonial Text , a journal which Ranjini Mendis (English faculty, Kwantlen) co-founded and managed with John Willinsky, and of which she is now Associate Editor.
