Alumni Success Stories

I am proud to have earned a B.A., Major in English, Minor in History at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Completing a degree at Kwantlen has given me the necessary professional and technical composition skills, communication abilities and academic experience to obtain employment in a post-secondary administrative role.

Further, obtaining a B.A. in English has helped me successfully launch an educational consulting company which provides services to assist students in discovering post- secondary options, and deciding on a post-secondary pathway."

I invite you to visit my view my company's website: http://www.pacificedconsulting.com

Obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in English at Kwantlen has also provided me the pre-requisite credential (and given me the academic skills necessary) to pursue studies at the graduate level; I am currently working toward a Masters of Arts (Integrated Studies) degree with a specialization in Adult Education at Athabasca University.

While I have been successful in my professional and educational endeavours through my own efforts, I must extend sincere gratitude to the faculty and administration in the Department of English as they have been an integral part of my personal success.

The experience of my education at Kwantlen Polytechnic University I think is best captured by a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward a goal … requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.”

In addition, it seems fitting here to share the institution mantra of Kwantlen:

“through tireless effort, knowledge, and understanding…”

The faculty and administration at Kwantlen have helped me understand the truth behind the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., and have clearly demonstrated they stand behind the mantra of Kwantlen as an institution. Their passion, dedication, and support to all of their students is truly inspiring. Moreover, the vibrancy of Kwantlen’s English faculty and their devotion to their craft of teaching is outstanding; words however, do not adequately convey my appreciation for supporting me throughout my tenure as a student.

Kwantlen’s English department holds the objective of “Educat[ing] your imagination.” In my opinion, the department of English has most certainly succeeded in this goal.

I am genuinely glad I chose Kwantlen for my undergraduate education. I am confident you will be too.
