The Criminology Department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for qualified instructors to be added to its existing contract faculty inventory. Successful applicants will be added to a pool of qualified non-regular type 1 instructors and called upon when sessional teaching opportunities arise.
We are interested in candidates with expertise in all areas, including:

The Criminology Department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University currently offers a Bachelor of Arts, Major in Criminology degree as well as a second degree focusing on Social Justice. The department emphasizes pedagogical principles and educational approaches that incorporate community-based research, professional development, and experiential learning across the curriculum, including service learning and practicum elements, as well as a co-op placement option. The Criminology Department is also home to the Journal of Radical Criminology and to the Critical Criminology Working Group. Past and proposed future learning initiatives include an Inside-Out course set in the prison context, an International Field School initiative, and a Centre for Social Justice.

The Criminology Department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for a 50% non-regular type 2 (temporary) faculty position to provide coverage for one year beginning on September 1, 2013. We seek faculty with expertise and experience to teach Interpersonal and Professional Development in Criminology. It is anticipated that the applicant will be available to teach four sections of CRIM 1215 throughout the year.

SOCIOLOGY INSTRUCTOR - Competition Number 13-48
The Department of Sociology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for a one-year part-time temporary faculty position (50%, Non-Regular Type 2 appointment) from September 1, 2013 to August 31, 2014.
The successful candidate must have a proven ability to teach sociology courses, including SOCI 1125 Introduction to Society: Processes and Structures and at least two of:
SOCI 2285 A Sociological Perspective of World Religions
SOCI 2311 Social Justice in Global and Local Contexts
SOCI 3300 Sociology of Work and Occupations
SOCI 3320 Sociology of Global Inequalities

POLITICAL SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR – Competition Number 13-93
The Department of Political Science at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for one non-regular type 2 (50 % temporary) faculty position. This one year contract is from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.
We seek faculty with expertise and experience to teach a 4000-level seminar in Issues in Public Policy and Administration and at least two of the following:
o 2000-level course in Sustainability and Government;
o Introductory courses in Canadian Politics;
o Introductory courses in Political Ideologies.
