About Kwantlen Polytechnic University

Kwantlen Polytechnic University is Canada’s second largest polytechnic university.  Throughout its history, Kwantlen has been closely tied to the communities it serves and embraces its role as an important cultural, recreational and educational resource for these communities.

To serve the diverse needs of the South Fraser region of BC, Kwantlen is committed to providing its 17,000 students each year with the skills and understanding to be engaged, aware and responsible citizens and to pursue fulfilling careers.

Music Program

Kwantlen’s Music Program offers students a high level of education in all major aspects of music by expanding their musical experiences and understanding through a variety of performing ensembles, ranging from classical to contemporary, and by encouraging students to develop their own creative and dynamic visions for their future.

The Music Program provides enriching opportunities that support the artistic growth and future of students, and promotes the proliferation of culture and artistic expressions through music in our communities.

Ties with the Community

The Music Program has significant ties to the community through participation in festivals, concerts and Music at Midweek, where students perform at the Surrey and Langley campuses on a regular basis, offering delightful performances free of charge to students, faculty, staff and the community at large.

Outstanding Faculty

The Music Program faculty offers expertise in everything from voice to trumpet expertise.  Whether performers or scholars, our instructors bring extensive professional experience to the classroom, rehearsal hall and private instruction sessions.

"Kwantlen music faculty are first-rate professionals who provided me a strong foundation for my vocal and teaching career."
— Melanie Krueger, Music Program Alumna.

Both full-time and contract specialists are on hand to provide students with the broadest possible education in music – inspiring them to reach their true potential.
