Go on Exchange
Want to have the experience of a lifetime? You’ve come to the right place! Exchange is a program in which a Kwantlen student has the opportunity to attend one of our partner institutions located all around the world while paying Kwantlen tuition and receiving full transfer credit for courses taken abroad.
Eligibility Requirements
To go on exchange you must:
- have completed 30 university credits by the time you wish to go on exchange. 15 of those credits must have been completed at Kwantlen
- have a GPA of 2.67
- be willing to return to Kwantlen after your exchange for a minimum of 9 credits
Is exchange right for me?
Going abroad can be a very exciting and fun experience. There are also times where it will be a bit stressful and challenging. The rewards for going abroad far outweigh the challenges but it is a good idea to prepare yourself to be open-minded and flexible throughout the experience.
Exchange Process
| Step 1 | Make sure you are eligible to go (see above). |

| Step 2 | Determine what your academic and personal goals are for your experience. |
| Step 3 | Attend an info session. |
| Step 4 | Talk to an academic advisor about your degree completion requirements. |
| Step 5 | Research partner universities that you are interested in. |
| Step 6 | Determine how the courses available through your exchange will fit in with your academic goals. |
| Step 7 | Find out about international scholarships and awards. |
| Step 8 | Meet with the International Mobility Coordinator to address any specific questions you may have. |
| Step 9 | Submit your exchange application by the application deadline. |
| Step 10 | Get Nominated to go on exchange. |
| Step 11 | Attend a pre-departure session and apply to your host institution. |
| Step 12 | Travel, learn, experience, and grow while on exchange. |
| Step 13 | Return home and attend a re-entry session. |
| Step 14 | Help promote Open World Exchanges to other students at Kwantlen. |
