Careers in Design
Did you know that a recent study produced by a consortium of British universities including the University of Cambridge and supported by the U.K.'s Design Council placed Canada fifth internationally for its design potential?
According to the International Design Scoreboard: Initial indicators of international design capabilities (2009), Canada has a large well-established design services sector, with high design employment relative to the overall population.
The study measured 12 countries based on such factors as: public investment in design, total number of design graduates, design firms and levels of employment in the design sector etc.
In reporting on the study, Ann Meredith Brown - editor of DESIGNEDGE Canada magazine concluded that "Clearly we have the potential to be a design powerhouse."
