Participating in Co-operative Education

Submissions are now being accepted for COOP 1101 Fall 2012 Session

The following provides detailed information regarding participation in Co-operative Education. Should you wish to participate in Co-op, please review and follow the steps listed below.

 Please note that some Co-op programs may have more demand than seats available. In addition, it is highly recommended that for certain programs, students achieve a minimum number of program credits and GPA prior to registering in COOP 1101. See those recommendations in the link above.

Step 3
Submissions of interest for participating in COOP 1101 for September 2012 will be received and responded to over two periods – Round 1 and Round 2.

Round 1 of submissions will be accepted until the end of the day on May 28th. All students will be notified by email of registration eligibility by June 1st.

Due to restricted seat availability, submissions are reviewed and accepted on a first come, first served basis. The submission system will remain open until the end of Round 2 but only students who have applied by the end of the day on May 28th will be considered in the first round.


Round 2: May 29th – September 18th. Submissions will be reviewed once per week on an as received basis. All students will be notified by email of registration eligibility within one week of submission. No submission will be received beyond September 18th. (Note: All COOP 1101 classes begin the week of September 24th 2012).

How to submit your interest to participate in COOP 1101:
1. Visit the Co-op and Career Services Job Posting Website “Career Connection”Click on this link to take you to the Career Connection Website
2. Unless you have registered in Career Connection before you will need to register using your Kwantlen Student ID Number and the same password that you use on My Kwantlen.
3. Once registered, click on the “Events” tab located on the left-hand side of the page. Next select the “Workshops” tab located on the left-hand side of the page.
4. Here you will find a list of options titled "COOP 1101 Intake (your program)". These options are set-up to gather names of interested students and ARE NOT an event that you attend.
5. Choose the option that pertains to your Academic Program and then click on the the RSVP button.
