Responde (www.responde.org.ar) is an Argentine NGO working for the recuperation and rejuvenation of small rural communities which are at risk of disappearing due to depopulation.  Our work is an internationally recognized response to increasing levels of poverty in large urban centres, the degradation of the environment and the loss of cultural and historical heritage.

We recently launched our international volunteering scheme, the Revival Programme (www.responde.org.ar/revival), which we would like to take the opportunity to any students that may be interested in participating in such a scheme before embarking on their professional careers or during vacations.  Our scheme may be especially interesting to Spanish Language or Latin American Studies students.

With the Revival Programme, Responde offers a unique volunteering experience not at all representative of the increasingly more globalised images of life in Latin America. The mere exposure to the communities with which Responde works is an extraordinarily enriching and eye-opening experience, to work with them is an altogether incomparable one.
