Co-operative Education

Co-operative Education formally integrates academic studies with paid, full-time work experiences in related positions with host employer organizations. The name reflects the co-operative relationship between the employer, student, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ)

Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative of the Summer Work Experience program. It provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create high-quality summer job opportunities for students between the ages of 15 and 30. The initiative is specifically designed to help students having trouble finding summer jobs because of where they live and/or other barriers.

Career Edge - Canada's Internship Organization

Since their inception in 1996, Career Edge Organization has worked with more than 1000 reputable organizations across Canada including Ontario Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration, RBC and General Motors of Canada to provide meaningful work experiences to over 8000 talented interns. Career Edge Organization provides an opportunity for employers to gain access to skilled talent consisting of graduates (Career Edge), graduates with disabilities (Ability Edge), and internationally qualified professionals (Career Bridge). Interns gain meaningful work experience with on the job coaching and mentoring in a professional business environment.

Financial Support Opportunities

The Small Business Internship Program supports businesses to actively market on-line and improve their competitiveness with e-business practices and technologies. Your firm will receive financial support towards the employment of post-secondary students who will work on e-business projects. The Government of Canada will reimburse 75% of the eligible wages and related expenses such as statutory employee benefits, up to a total of $10,000. Your firm is responsible for covering other expenses such as fringe benefits and overhead costs. Support will be available for twelve weeks. 

Youth Skills Hiring Incentive


The Youth Skills BC workplace pilot program offers qualified BC businesses a $2,000 hiring incentive to employ eligible youth between ages 15 and 29, plus an additional $1,000 for training activities. Please visit http://www.bowmanemployment.com/ysbc.htm for more information.
