Increasingly, teachers and institutions are becoming more interested in discussion-based learning. The payoff is more motivated students, more stimulating classroom discussions, better prepared graduates – and a renewed joy in teaching and learning. This two-day interactive workshop will highlight the following topics:

• Sample case discussion class
• The three stage learning process
• Student preparation for class and the case preparation chart
• Instructor preparation for class and the case teaching plan
• Preparing possible discussion questions for use in class
• Evaluating student contribution to case class discussions
• Institutional challenges to teaching with cases

The Teaching with Cases workshop will involve a mix of individual preparation sessions, small group discussions and large group discussions. The daily schedule will br from 8:30 to 4:30 with a one hour lunch provided and appropriate morning and afternoon breaks with refreshments also provided.

Cost: $350

Seating is limited. If you are interested in attending please contact Shawneen Hole at (604)599-3251 or by email at shawneen.hole@kwantlen.ca
