How to Participate
Here’s your chance to get creative and show us what makes Kwantlen a special place for you. Take a photo and write a short statement about what your picture says about Kwantlen. The photo could say something about the kind of school Kwantlen is, the great people, your own experiences or the benefits you get from being here. Your peers and our judges will vote on the submissions - and prizes will be awarded to the winners. This is not just a photography contest where you’d normally be judged on the quality of the picture. This is about the message and the emotion that you convey.... how well have you expressed the spirit of Kwantlen?
The Prizes
- Grand Prize: $3000 in “Kwantlen Campus Cash”
- 2nd Prize: $1500 in “Kwantlen Campus Cash”
- 3rd Prize: $1000 in “Kwantlen Campus Cash”
- Hon. Mention: $ 500 in “Kwantlen Campus Cash”
- Hon. Mention: $ 500 in “Kwantlen Campus Cash”
Eligibility
- You are 19 yrs of age or older as of the first day of the contest.
- Open to all current Kwantlen Polytechnic University students who are in “good academic standing”.
- No purchase necessary to enter or win.
The Rules
- Read official rules.
The Technicals
- Photos must be in the following file formats: .jpg, .gif or .png;
- Must be no more than 2 MB in file size.
- Can be uploaded from your computer.
- Keep it appropriate and legal (no nudity, profanity, vulgarity, hatred, violence, etc)
The Deadline
- Contest closes May 14, 2010 at midnight (PST)
The Submission
- You must have taken the photograph yourself.
- Sign-up for the contest by providing some basic contact information.
- Post your submission by giving it a title and then upload it by clicking on “Browse” navigating to your photo and then clicking “Upload”
- Add a short statement (of no more than 75 words) that explains how this photo captures Kwantlen spirit and pride, expresses something special about the school, its people, or your own experience here.
- Have your say and vote for your favorites based on how well the photo and words captures the spirit of KPU.
- Spread the word and increase your votes by using the “share” feature and tell your friends.
- Come back here after voting ends to see who won.
- Winners will be contacted via their email as submitted through this contest.
- Winning entries are judged on how the picture and words “show the KPU spirit”. Photos are not judged on technical quality.
