Head Coach - Dan Nayebzadeh

Coach Nayebzadeh holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, Physical Education Degree from the University of British Columbia, and is a certified NCCP Level 3 coach. Nayebzadeh’s professional coaching career started at Sutherland Secondary School, where as head coach, he led the senior girls’ basketball team to a record 200 wins and 40 losses over eight seasons. In 2009, Nayebzadeh’s had the opportunity to coach with the BC Titans Minor League Professional team, assuming the role as assistant coach; the following year he was selected by the Basketball BC Elite Development Program as the U-16 Provincial team head coach. Most recently, Nayebzadeh’s has assisted the Canadian National team coaches, Allison and Mike McNeill, at the Canadian Centre for Performance and Regional Training Centre while concurrently fulfilling the role of assistant coach of the women’s basketball team at Simon Fraser University; a team that has celebrated two national titles won between 2008-2010. Associate Head Coach - Emily Wright

Emily joined the Eagles in 2010 with three years of coaching experience with Drive Basketball. Prior to Emily’s arrival, she played on the Langara College women’s basketball team from 2005-2008, where she was part of the 2005-2006 BCCAA Provincial Championship. After leaving Langara, she spent one year playing for Carleton University in Ottawa and then returned home to the Kwantlen Eagles for her fifth year of eligibility in 2009. For the 2010-2011 Eagles season, Emily served as the Kwantlen Women's basketball team's assistant coach. This past summer, Emily coached alongside Dan Nayebzadeh, and together they helped develop the BC U-16 Provincial team. In addition, Emily is a co-founder of Excel Basketball Academy.
