Teaching for Learning at Kwantlen
For New and Experienced Faculty
As faculty members join and continue with Kwantlen Polytechnic University, we offer initial and ongoing opportunities for professional development in the field of teaching and learning.
Our Faculty Teaching for Learning program consolidates, into a 70 hour program, many of the core instructional activities that The Centre for Academic Growth offers for faculty. This Program benefits individual instructors and supporting the development of Faculty Learning Communities at Kwantlen. These learning opportunities are available to all faculty members and teaching associates at Kwantlen.
This program contains three areas of contiguous, interactive learning experiences - Curriculum, Learners, and Institutional - designed to provide opportunities for faculty to develop and enhance their facility in teaching for learning. Personal and professional development are integral elements of the life-long learning that Kwantlen supports for students, community, and employees.
Sessions are intended to provide a solid base for personal academic growth in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Faculty who undertake professional development studies in education demonstrate a commitment to enhanced student learning and to developing their professional skills. A Statement of Completion is offered.
The complete program is offered in both May and August. At other times, all or portions can be offered for any group of 5 or more faculty members. Please contact The Centre for Academic Growth to arrange.
